Been thinking a lot about mortality lately and just how much of it I have left. I've lost quite a few people I love in the last few years, and as I'm not much for crowds or casual relationships, I don't have that many to lose. I've come to the conclusion that you have to be at peace with who you are before you can worry about anybody else. Namaste.

Although I am a serious book reader, meaning mills and boon are good only for kindling, I'm gonna have to say Jean Claude from the Anita Blake series. Why? Coz I'm a sucker for black hair and blue eyes, he has a killer bod with just enough fragility, and my weakness is for the tortured dark and twisted.

Merry christmas guys, though I feel more like scrooge (bah humbug) than santa this year. What a crap year it's been, 2008 had better be luckier for me or I'll have to shoot myself! I'm going away for a couple of weeks so at least I can lay around the pool and veg. Might even get myself a tan, though with my luck I'll end up with melanoma. Sooo cynical huh. Help yourself to the movies, have a great xmas and a happy new year and see you in 2008! Kisses!

Yesterday my favourite uncle, who happened to be the most loving, caring, wonderful, funny and inappropriate drunken reprobate that ever lived, lost his battle with metastisizing melanoma. He went from a larger than life dirty old man with a little mole on his back, to a 45kg skeleton wheeling around an oxygen bottle with tumours in his lungs, liver, kidney and bones.
He was my husbands fave uncle, and the first time I went to the entrance to meet him, my hubby told me all these stories about all the trouble they used to get into together, and then said"oh by the way, he likes to grab people so don't stand too close ok." Needless to say I was terrified. We pulls up walks into the house and I'm standing in the kitchen when in walks this little man who wasn't a inch over 5'5 and says " Hi I'm Terry" and grabs me on the boobs! I spent the rest of the night trying to hide behind my other half while Terry sniggered in his beer, but we became the best of friends and true family once I saw who he really was under the jokes and teasing. He loved a beer, he loved a smoke ( tobacco AND weed) and he loved to have fun and live to the max. He worshiped his wife, and he loved me and my family, and I will always miss him. RIP you shameless flirt, try not to feel up too many angels ok.

I know, I know, I'm the slackest blogger in the known universe. To tell you the truth, my life has been so freaky the last year the last thing on my mind is talking about it.I'll just paraphrase a few things, just to get up to date. I finally started work on my backpiece, it's a large White Tara Buddha inked by Kiwi Kim at Wicked Ink. I'm about halfway through so far and it's beautiful.I ended up in hospital in october with an infection from a bad nipple piercing, that was fun. He who is not to be named and I went away over Xmas, just the two of us. We went to a place called Kims at Toowoon Bay, Central Coast for 3 days. Oh My God! It was the best holiday I have ever had! Everything was included, the food was unbelievable and the beach was just outside our door. We had a garden spa bungalow, which was a fully self contained cabin just back from the beach under these 150 year old norfolk pines. It had a private deck with a jacuzzi, king size bed, lounge room with tv, stereo and bookcase, huge bathroom with a shower temple that had two shower heads and each head had two massaging nozzles, towel warmers and luxury toiletries, bathrobes and fluffy bathsheets, and proper tea and coffee, the kind with a teapot and plunger. We were in heaven. We spent most of the time naked in the jacuzzi, it was as hot as a bath and extra jets. The food, I mean we both gained 5 kilos each in three days! They make most of their own food, including handmade butter, 6 different types of bread, jams chutneys and sauces, handmade icecream( the lime was divine) and fresh seafood from local boats. Every meal there was at least 4 different choices for each course and every meal had 4 courses. There was 10 different types of tea and coffee, and a huge wine list. Before dinner every night you went to the cocktail bar and had horsdeurves and listened to the piano player while overlooking the surf. There was tropical gardens everywhere, and staff looking after every whim. There was a games room. a handcarved chess set in a leafy alcove, complimentary movies and papers, and bird song everywhere. While we were at dinner, the maid turned down our bed, put up fresh warm towels and left peppermint tea brewing. We walked on the beach every night and it was like we were the only people in the world.Paradise!
Then we come back to reality and after Xmas my eldest son ran away from home, I stopped talking to my family, I tore the medial ligament in my knee and now have chronic fatigue syndrome.
I want to go back to Kims!!!!

Well, I've certainly been having fun since my last post. Busy running around in crowded shopping centres wrestling other parents who all want the same thing my kids do. I tell ya, you gotta be under 12 years old to enjoy this time of year, otherwise its hell on earth. There's a reason why suicides increase over the holidays. Just to add to the fun, while I was with the kids choosing a xmas tree, I slipped in a ditch, sprained my ankle and bounced my head off the ground. What the bloody hell else could happen! I think I should just become agoraphobic and never leave my house again, it'd be a lot safer. The only thing keeping me sane is my ipod and foxtel. Crappy xmas tv and tunes. I've been listening to Silver Jews lately, their album Tanglewood Numbers is really good, I'm going to post it in ljmixtape on monday, just to share the love. Lots of Dandy Warhols as well, Urban Bohemia & The Black Album. Ryan Adams new one, 29, is good, as is Aqualung's StillLife. For some weirdness it has to be CocoRosie & Devendra Banhart, strange but good.
Gotta go, time to ice the ankle, and maybe put a bullet in my head! Lol. Well, they shoot horses don't they?

This entry is dedicated to Jeff Buckley (may angels light his way).
I came late to Jeff's music, after reading about his death I went out and bought Grace for 10 bucks at Big W. Once I listened to it, I was hooked! From the grandeur of mojo Pin to the classic Last Goodbye, from the longing of Grace to the moody Dream Brother, from the gothic Corpus Christi Carol to the beauty of Hallelujah I fell totally and instantly in love. His voice can send you from a swoon to a tear to joy and then back. I became a JB tragic (as my family will readily testify) and now I have him on my computer, in my bookcase, on my mobile, in my ipod and most definetly in my heart. I have most of his recordings including-
Grace - Legacy Edition
Sketches for My Sweetheart the Drunk
Mystery White Boy
Live at Sin-E
Live at L'olympia
Babylon Dungeon Demos
Live at Glastonbury 95
Gods & Monsters - St Anns Church
Live at Liquid Room - Tokyo
Live at Roskilde 95
Live at Sproul Plaza
Tears From The Stars - Live at the Mercury Lounge
Live from the Phonecian Club - Sydney
WBCN Live session.
There are more rarities and bootlegs I would love to have, so if anyone reading this has any, I would love to hear from you.
God bless you Jeff, and thank you for all the joy you have brought me.

Thank god it's the end of another week. While I was busy organising my Itunes yesterday the whole damm computer crashed!! I'm sitting there staring at the blue screen of death thinking Oh Shit! Three weeks till xmas, the car just blew up and needs a new head, the tv's gone fuzzy and now my computer up and fucking dies on me! While I'm hyperventilating and curled up in a little ball on the floor, the machine repairs itself, thank god. I think I just had an anuerysism.

Hi people, since my last post I have been in hospital and unable to do much of anything until now. I was sitting at the computer when I started getting chest pains, which of course I ignored until they started to travel up my shoulder. Talk about freaksville! With my dad having five heart attacks and both sets of grandparents keeling over from sudden heart attacks ( most at a fairly early age) i was not taking any chances. So after a week of testing it turns out to be a pulmonary embolism and oesaphaugitis, neither of which will kill me thank god. I'm like a cockroach, the only way to kill me is by stomping, or forcing me to watch back to back episodes of Neighbours or Idol! have been having spectacular storms here in sydney the last week or so, lots of lightning & thunder, was terrified my HD would crash ( especially when it began to rain thru my lightbulb!), but have escaped unharmed and all circuitry intact.
So It's goodbye for now, don't forget - I'm watching you!! Lol. xx

Hi there, just checked out the great photos from the Uncommon Ground tribute for Jeff, they look terrific and I wish I could have been there. Unfortunately Chicago is about 1,000 km (give or take) away so I have to be content being an online voyeur. I can't wait until Amazing Grace the doco is either shown here or released on dvd, seeing as it is so hard to get copies of all the other doco's shown on overseas tele, I don't think that any of them have been shown on tv here.
I am reading a really good book at the moment called Perfume by Patrick Suskind. It's about this person born in Paris in the 1700's who has this amazing sense of smell, but doesn't have any scent himself, and even less morals. He kills people so he can inhale their smell and then makes perfume with it. It's quite fascinating and very well written, the book was in the top 100 books voted by readers all over Australia. I'm going to start The God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy next. That also was on the top 100 list and has had great reviews.
Am going now, have run out of icecream and feel the need to shop, see ya later. Liz. xx

Everyone here is asleep at the moment, just sitting here contemplating my navel and other fun stuff. Was watching a doco on alien abductions and thought that with that many nutjobs in the world I am better off locked in my house and only communicating through my computer!! Lol..I have had a mixed bag this weekend, started off alright, then other half (he who is not to be named)'s car broke down(repair bills, Yay!), then my son got beat up by a footy player 3 times his size and 5 years older. But I still got to watch abductees being probed so all is right with the world.
